Huawei’s Smart Island Demo Discovered
Huawei’s much-awaited Mate60 series is poised to make a grand entrance in September/October, and tech enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement. Among the series’ standout features, the front lens integrated into the front screen will introduce a revolutionary design known as the Smart Island, akin to the iPhone 14 Pro series. Numerous GIFs circulating online have already provided glimpses of this innovation.
One of the key highlights of the Mate60 series is the debut of HarmonyOS 4.0 as its operating system. Huawei has reportedly experimented with the Smart Island interaction on the earlier Mate40 Pro model, paving the way for the successful implementation of this functional design in the upcoming series.
HarmonyOS 4.0’s development includes adapting the long bar-shaped screen UI and introducing the much-anticipated “Smart Island.” This exciting feature allows users to intuitively view text messages, notifications, and other apps’ interactive experience.
In terms of security, Huawei has stepped up its game with the Mate60 Pro, incorporating a 3D face recognition function similar to the iPhone. To achieve this, the front camera will be equipped with a 3D depth sensor, complemented by Huawei’s proprietary 3D detection algorithms. This combination ensures a more secure and efficient 3D face-unlocking process. Additionally, traditional on-screen fingerprint recognition will also be supported for added convenience.
