According to the official introduction, NuVolta NU2205 is currently the industry’s highest power single-chip charge pump fast charging chip, charging power up to 100W, but also China’s only support for dual-cell 4:2 charge pump fast-charging architecture of the chip.
NuVolta said that the successful development of this chip will help break the monopoly of foreign manufacturers in the dual-cell fast charging industry.
What’s more, the official introduction of the chip will also be able to provide cell phones with a 200W dual-cell fast charging solution, which is currently the highest power fast charging available on the market.

The charge pump technology is a special DC-DC (DC-DC) voltage conversion method, the use of capacitive energy storage, fast on and off, to achieve half the output voltage. The NU2205 uses a 4:2 charge pump architecture that is optimized with an integrated FET to achieve a 50% duty cycle. The dual-phase architecture reduces input capacitance requirements while reducing output voltage ripple.
