Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2
Samsung continues to innovate in the world of smart tracking devices with the recent launch of the Galaxy SmartTag 2, following yesterday’s release of the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone, Tab S9 Series, and Buds Fe. Priced at 29.99 USD, this new product boasts a fresh oval design, a more robust build, and several impressive features.
The Galaxy SmartTag 2 presents a departure from its predecessor’s diamond design, adopting a sleeker oval shape. Notably, the keyhole has been enlarged and now incorporates a durable metal ring to resist wear and tear. Users can choose between classic black or pristine white options, and the device is certified with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, ensuring durability in various conditions.
One standout feature is the hidden coin cell battery, which can be easily replaced by the user. Samsung claims that the SmartTag 2 can power through up to an impressive 500 days of usage and extend that to 700 days in power-saving mode, offering peace of mind for those concerned about frequent recharging.
A notable addition is the all-new Lost Mode, which allows users to input their contact information via a message. This means that if someone discovers an item with a Galaxy SmartTag 2 attached, they can simply use their smartphone to scan the tag and access the owner’s message and contact details, simplifying the return process.
Samsung has not stopped at hardware improvements. The Galaxy SmartTag 2 offers an improved Compass View feature, enhancing the user experience by providing clear arrows to indicate the direction and distance of the SmartTag 2 to the user. This feature is available on any UWB-supported Galaxy smartphone, including the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The SmartThings Find app has also received a significant upgrade. Newly registered Galaxy SmartTags will install a shortcut to the app on the user’s smartphone, allowing for quicker access to SmartThings Find. The app now boasts a full-screen map view and a more intuitive interface, making it even easier for users to locate their belongings.
Of course, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 also retains essential tracking features found in previous generation products. Users can trigger a ringtone, display the distance of the tagged item on their phone, and check its location through Samsung’s apps.
Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag 2 combines a sleek design, extended battery life, and innovative features to offer a comprehensive tracking solution for users. With the addition of Lost Mode and enhanced user experience through the SmartThings Find app, Samsung continues to refine its ecosystem of smart devices, making everyday life more convenient and worry-free.
