Lenovo Working on Legion Go Portable Gaming Console
In recent years, the world of gaming has witnessed a surge in interest in portable gaming consoles that offer the power and graphics prowess of PC gaming. Riding on the success stories of Valve’s Steam Deck and ASUS’s ROG Ally, Lenovo seems to be ready to embrace this new era with its own gaming handheld – the Legion Go.
According to reports, the Legion Go is set to be a formidable contender in the handheld gaming market. Sporting Windows 11, it aims to provide greater compatibility with PC gaming titles, bridging the gap between PC and portable gaming experiences. The use of AMD’s Ryzen 7040 series of chips, optimized for ultra-thin devices and gaming handhelds, further bolsters its potential to deliver high-end gaming performance.
One standout feature of the Legion Go could be its 8-inch screen, setting it apart from its competitors like the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck, which sport 7-inch displays. This larger screen size might alleviate the issue of small UI elements that can plague console games ported to smaller screens, ensuring a more immersive gaming experience.

However, it’s worth noting that the Legion Go’s existence has not been officially confirmed by Lenovo, leaving some room for uncertainty. In the past, Lenovo was said to be developing an Android handheld named Legion Play in 2021, but it never made it to the market. The mere possibility of the Legion Go, along with Lenovo’s previous plans for a handheld, raises curiosity about the company’s commitment to the portable gaming space.
