MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Launched

This afternoon MediaTek officially released a new generation of flagship processors – Dimensity 9200. The new processor offers high performance, and high energy efficiency along with many other advantages, and has the first TSMC second-generation 4nm process, including the nine global firsts.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Introduction

It is reported that, in addition to being the first processor to use TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process that integrates 17 billion transistors, the world’s firsts for the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 include:

  1. TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process
  2. The first second-generation ArmV9 architecture
  3. The first pure 64-bit large-core CPU
  4. First ARM Cortex-X3 @ 3.05GHz
  5. First Immortalis-G715 Hardware Ray Tracing GPU
  6. First Wi-Fi 7 Ready
  7. First LPDDR5X 8533Mbps memory
  8. First RGBW ISP
  9. First multi-cycle queue technology Accelerated UFS 4.0

As the first processor to support hardware ray tracing, the Dimensity 9200 also supports technologies such as variable frame rate rendering and has 3x triangle counting capability, 2x floating-point output capability 2x FP16 hybrid output capability, and more.

Compared to the Dimensity 9000, the performance of the Dimensity 9200 is 25% higher, GPU performance is 32% higher, and power consumption is 41% lower. In the AnTuTu Benchmark, the model equipped with the Dimensity 9200 achieved a score of 1.26 million, which is the highest score in the current Android camp, 130,000 points more than the previous generation.

Specifications-wise, Dimensity 9200 is equipped with a 3.05GHz Cortex-X3 super core, three 2.85GHz A715 large cores, and four 1.8GHz A510 small cores, all of which support pure 64-bit applications. The 9200 also has 8MB of tertiary cache and 6MB of system cache, and the GPU is the Immortalis-G715 MC11.

In terms of GPU, the Dimensity 9200 is the first to be equipped with the Immortalis-G715 flagship GPU, which supports mobile hardware ray tracing technology, and GFXBench Manhattan 3.0 test performance is 32% higher and power consumption is 41% lower than the Dimensity 9000.

In addition, the Dimensity 9200 supports Variable Rate Rendering (VRS) technology, which improves frame rates by 10% and reduces power consumption by 21%.

As for APU, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 is equipped with the sixth generation AI processor APU, with 98% higher performance (VS.FP16), 15% lower power consumption (VS.wo/ NAS), 35% higher ETHZ performance, and 45% higher video overscoring efficiency.

In addition, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 also supports LPDDR5X 8533Mbps memory, a 13% increase in bandwidth over the Dimensity 9000, as well as 8-channel UFS 4.0 flash memory, which makes use of multi-loop queuing technology to give data transfer a significant speed boost.

In addition, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is equipped with Hyper Engine 6.0 gaming engine, which supports pixel-level real-time trailing shadow elimination, Wi-Fi latency down by 54%, Bluetooth LE Audio latency down by 53ms speed up by 24%, intelligent frame stabilization “Genshin Impact” frame rate jitter down by 63%, average fps up by 15%, MAGT game adaptive modulation technology Power consumption dropped by 18% and the temperature dropped by 4°C.

In terms of communication, MediaTek Dimensity 9200 integrates TSMC’s 6nm wireless connectivity chip and introduces “5G New Dual-Pass” based on dual SIM mode, which is the first to support the upcoming Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity as well as Bluetooth 5.3 and Bluetooth audio LE Audio, covering global satellite signals.

In terms of imaging, MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is equipped with Imagiq 890 image processor, the first to support RGBW sensor, combined with APU 690 introduced intelligent image semantic segmentation technology, support for AI dual-track capture, AI movie mode, and so on.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is equipped with MediaTek MiraVision 890 mobile display technology, supporting full-scene HDR display, including AI regional image quality enhancement, multi-block layered color management, and adaptive refresh rate (35% lower power consumption).
