Snapdragon 898 Core Frequency Unveiled: SM8475 (898 Plus) On the way

Snapdragon 898 Core Frequency

As we know that Qualcomm will release the next-generation flagship SoC Snapdragon 8 series in the coming months to power high-end flagship phones in 2022 is expected to be named Snapdragon 898. Previously Snapdragon 898 specifications were also reported, but today Digital Chat Station unveiled more details of this SoC.

According to the report, (SM8450) Snapdragon 898 core frequency of new prototype of 1+3+4 triple-cluster architecture design. Among them an Arm Cortex-X2 clocked at 3.0GHz large core; three cores of 2.5Ghz clock speed; four cores with a clock speed of 1.79GHz; and a GPU of Adreno 730.

The report continues to point out that Snapdragon 898 is based on Samsung’s 4nm process. Compared with Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 898’s mega-core main frequency is further increased, which will bring performance improvement, but the high frequency will inevitably bring high power consumption as well heat.

The Snapdragon 898 uses Samsung’s 4nm process, compared to the Snapdragon 888 processor’s 5nm process, there is some improvement in the process, but whether the major smartphone manufacturers can keep the power consumption down is another matter.

Following Qualcomm’s past launch practices, the chip will be officially announced at the Qualcomm Summit in December this year, and the Snapdragon 898 Plus processor will be launched in the second half of 2022. According to sources Snapdragon 898 Plus code-named SM8475, which is expected to be built using TSMC’s 4nm process, perhaps with even better power control.
