According to the official statement, HarmonyOS supports a wide range of devices, including cell phones, tablets, watches, etc. In the future, it will also support cars, IoT, and other devices, and devices with memory as small as 128K and as large as 4GB or more can be supported by HarmonyOS.

In addition, the HarmonyOS system also uses distributed technology to support multi-camera mode, including multi-device combination photography, cell phone, tablet, watch interoperability, etc., opening up the era of the Internet of everything.

In terms of system UI, HarmonyOS claims to have adopted a new UI interaction method, including the unified control center and HarmonyOS desktop, all of which adopt a card-based UI with a simple interface and very low difficulty in getting started.

In terms of the underlying system, HarmonyOS has been heavily optimized, claiming a 42% performance increase and more power saving.

Thanks to this, after 36 months of use, devices equipped with HarmonyOS can ensure that storage sequential read speed drops by 4.5%, sequential write speed drops by 0.9%, and random read/write drops by less than 5%, while iOS devices in the same cycle drop by at least 20%.

In terms of security performance, HarmonyOS’s system security capability has been recognized by global authorities. The TEE OS security microkernel has been certified as CC EAL5+, the highest security level for commercial operating system kernels in the world; HarmonyOS’s entire operating system has been certified as EAL4+, the highest IT product information security certification in China.

At the launch, Huawei announced the devices that can be upgraded HarmonyOS, up to hundreds of models, Huawei said that this is the largest upgrade in the history of Huawei. Although the list announced at the launch did not have Honor models, HarmonyOS official microblogging has just been updated to include a large number of old Honor models.

The list shows that the Honor 30 series, V30 series, 20 series, V20 series, Honor X10 series, Honor Magic 2, Honor Tablet 6, X6, Honor Play4 series, etc. will be upgraded in the fourth quarter of this year.

At the same time some old models can also be upgraded, such as the Honor 9 series, V9 series, Honor 10 series, Honor V10 series, Honor 9X series, Honor tablet 5 series, Honor Play3, etc., but the schedule to the first half of next year.

In this, Honor 9, Huawei Mate9, and other models equipped with Kirin 960 chip, it has been 5 years so far, this update support can be said to quite take care of the old users.
