Motorola One Action Official Introduction

Motorola launched the “One” series of cheap mobile phones last year. Today the company announced the latest product in this series: Motorola One Action mobile phone. As the name implies, this smartphone can provide users with video quality similar to that of the motion camera GoPro, which looks different.

The “action” in the name refers to the third rear camera configured on this phone. A dedicated ultra-wide camera with a 117-degree field of view that can shoot video like GoPro. Motorola is making this phone’s shooting different from the video of an ordinary mobile phone, the first is the lens itself.

The camera’s field of view is extremely wide, but Motorola is also physically rotating the sensor. Which means that when you hold the phone vertically, the camera’s frame will record the video horizontally. This is a small change, but it helps users get the most out of their camera. Motorola has also introduced some software-side algorithms that provide so-called “enhanced video stability” to reduce jitter during shooting.

Other configurations of the One Action phone are more in line with consumer expectations for a cheap Android phone. The phone comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display and a 12-megapixel camera with a perforated screen. The other two rear cameras include a 12 megapixel main lens and a 5 megapixel portrait depth camera.

Performance

Motorola’s One-series smartphones use Samsung’s Exynos 9609 processor instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset. In addition, this phone is also equipped with 4GB of memory, 128GB of onboard storage, USB-C interface and headphone jack, and 3500 mAh battery

Unlike the Motorola E, G and Z series of smartphones, the Motorola One brand is harder to define. The specifications of this type of mobile phone are close to the high end of low-end mobile phones, similar to Moto G or Z, but the hardware is often more experimental than the standard Motorola brand mobile phone.

Motorola One Action will be available today in Brazil, Mexico and “Multiple European Countries” starting at 259 Euros ($288) and will be available in Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. It will also land in the US and Canada markets in early October.
