MediaTek and OPPO to Enhance End-Side AI
In a groundbreaking collaboration, MediaTek, OPPO, and ColorOS have joined forces to create a lightweight large model end-side AI deployment program. This innovative partnership aims to drive the gradual integration of large language model capabilities at the device’s end (On-device Generative AI).
MediaTek, a leader in semiconductors with AI technology, and OPPO, known for its cutting-edge smartphone technology, are set to revolutionize the landscape of artificial intelligence deployment. MediaTek’s advanced AI processor APU, coupled with its AI development platform NeuroPilot, lays the foundation for a comprehensive terminal-side AI and generative AI computing ecosystem. This ecosystem will not only expedite the development and implementation of edge AI computing but also enhance the performance of large language models and generative AI applications.
One of the noteworthy outcomes of this partnership is the introduction of AndesGPT, OPPO’s independent training generative large language model. Impressively, AndesGPT has secured a significant position in the SuperCLUE top ten basic ability list, achieving a score of 98.33 in the “knowledge and encyclopedia” category, positioning it as a formidable contender in the field, second only to GPT4.
OPPO has taken this collaboration a step further by launching a new round of public beta testing for their AI Assistant Boo 1.0 Beta, powered by the AndesGPT large model. To participate in this round of testing, users need to have ColorOS 13 and above. OPPO boasts that their upgraded AI Assistant, named Boo, will exhibit enhanced semantic understanding and the ability to generate responses based on user inputs. Additionally, summarization and other AI capabilities will be significantly bolstered.
