Lenovo’s Android-powered PCs

Lenovo, a global technology giant, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with Esper, an enterprise-grade Android Device Management platform. The result of this partnership is the introduction of the ThinkCentre M70a all-in-one PC, a cutting-edge enterprise product based on the Android platform.

Traditionally, the Android operating system has been synonymous with smartphones and tablets. However, Lenovo’s strategic move into the realm of Android-powered PCs marks a significant shift. The ThinkCentre M70a, designed primarily for enterprise use, is set to cater to businesses in the retail and hospitality sectors.

The decision to utilize the Android operating system for a PC might raise eyebrows at first glance, but it aligns with a logical rationale. Android’s streamlined and user-friendly interface, compared to the complexity of Windows and MacOS, offers a focused work experience that is particularly appealing to enterprise customers.

What sets this collaboration apart is Lenovo’s commitment to providing a comprehensive solution for its customers. Under the agreement, Lenovo can offer a range of Android-supported devices bundled with Esper Device Management. Moreover, they will introduce a selection of devices preloaded with Esper Foundation, a custom Android OS tailored for enterprise needs, along with Esper Device Management.

This strategic partnership between Lenovo and Esper aims to benefit customers in various industries, particularly retail, hospitality, and healthcare. With Lenovo’s robust hardware and Esper’s remote device management capabilities, businesses can deploy these devices swiftly and efficiently, all while maintaining control and monitoring capabilities remotely.

Lenovo OEM Solutions played a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless integration of hardware and software, making the Lenovo ThinkCentre M70a just the first in a series of planned x86 platforms to run Esper Foundation for Android. Lenovo has confirmed that the ThinkCentre M70q, M90n-1 IoT, and the ThinkEdge SE30 v2 will join the lineup by the end of the year.

In a statement, Lenovo emphasized the growing interest among businesses in the Android ecosystem for its flexibility and efficiency. The introduction of these reliable, configurable, and long-lasting x86 solutions, powered by Esper, is expected to accelerate the adoption of Android-powered PCs in enterprise environments.

In conclusion, Lenovo’s partnership with Esper marks a significant step in bringing the Android operating system to the world of enterprise PCs. The ThinkCentre M70a and its upcoming counterparts offer a promising blend of Lenovo’s trusted hardware and Esper’s robust management solutions, providing businesses with a powerful tool to enhance productivity and efficiency in their operations.
