Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Upgraded Camera and Design Details
In a recent development, new information has emerged regarding the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, shedding light on its upgraded camera capabilities and design changes. Renowned leaker Ice Universe has provided insights into the smartphone’s enhanced telephoto lens, design modifications, and potential display upgrade.
One of the most notable improvements comes in the form of the telephoto lens. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to feature a 3x telephoto lens with a staggering 50 megapixels, a significant leap from the previous 10 megapixels. This substantial upgrade promises a dramatic enhancement in the device’s zoom capabilities, ranging from 3x to 10x, resulting in superior telephoto photography.
The 3x telephoto lens’s sensor size is on par with the IMX858, boasting a pixel size of 0.7μm and a lens size of 1/2.52 inches. This technology breakthrough has not only propelled the device’s 3x zoom performance but has also notably improved its 5x zoom quality. Interestingly, this prompted initial rumors that the S24 Ultra might adopt a dedicated 5x sensor. Samsung’s focus on highlighting the 5x image quality underscores the significance of the 50MP 3x telephoto lens.
Despite the camera enhancements, the primary camera and ultra-wide-angle camera remain unchanged. The 10x zoom continues to employ the same sensor, albeit with some refinements to improve its performance.

Design-wise, the Galaxy S24 Ultra exhibits noticeable changes. The device is reported to be shorter, wider, and thinner compared to its predecessor. The camera bump protrudes about 2mm from the body. Impressively, these design tweaks do not alter the device’s weight, battery capacity, or charging power.
The dimensions of the S24 Ultra stand at 162.3mm in height and 79mm in width. A striking comparison with the Galaxy S23 Ultra reveals that the S24 Ultra is not only shorter but also notably wider. Will it be comfortable to hold?
Moreover, Samsung is anticipated to enhance the device’s display, potentially incorporating the M13 OLED Panel. This upgrade would likely result in improved visual quality and user experience.
