Honor’s ‘Victoria’: Outward Foldable Phone
Just a month ago, Honor unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the Magic 2, a remarkably thin foldable phone. The company has ambitious plans to introduce this cutting-edge device in the global markets next month. Honor Magic V2 is set to directly compete with Huawei’s Mate X3 foldable, in addition to competing with established players like Samsung and Xiaomi.
While several brands, including Samsung, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor, have released foldable phones featuring inward folding displays, Huawei stands out with its unique outward folding design showcased in the Mate Xs series. This distinctive approach offers a slimmer profile compared to traditional inward folding models, thanks to its single, expansive foldable screen.

In a strategic move to rival Huawei’s offering, Honor is dedicating its efforts to developing an outward foldable phone, which is already in progress. Recently, an Honor device bearing the model number VCA-AN00 successfully obtained network licensing from telecom authorities. This model, widely believed to be Honor’s forthcoming outward foldable phone, has been given the codename “Victoria” by insiders.
The “Victoria” is expected to be Honor’s pioneering outward foldable display phone, distinguishing itself from small screen folding devices by featuring a large 2K eye-protecting screen. If we consider Huawei’s naming conventions, the device might be introduced to the market as the Honor Magic Vs2. This move demonstrates Honor’s determination to embrace innovation and compete head-on with the foldable technology leaders in the market.
