DJI Launches Osmo Action 4
DJI has officially unveiled the next generation of its flagship sports camera, the Osmo Action 4. Packed with cutting-edge technology, this powerful camera is set to revolutionize the way users capture their action-packed adventures.
The Osmo Action 4 boasts a larger 1/1.3-inch image sensor with a pixel size of 2.4μm and an f/2.8 aperture, enabling users to shoot stunning 4K videos at an impressive 120fps. The 155º wide-angle lens ensures that no action is missed, capturing the full essence of thrilling moments.
One standout feature of the Osmo Action 4 is it’s 10-bit & D-Log M Professional Color Mode, which records over 1 billion colors and a wider dynamic range. This results in smooth color transitions, preserving intricate details even in high-motion or multi-color scenes, and opening up new possibilities for post-production editing.
The camera’s stabilization capabilities are equally impressive. The multi-mode stabilization, including the 360º Horizon Steady, effectively counteracts camera shake in all directions and corrects tilt angles horizontally, even in scenes with severe bumps or potential 360° rotation. The RockSteady 3.0 intelligent anti-shake algorithm maintains stability while delivering an impactful first-person perspective.
Designed to withstand various environments, the Osmo Action 4 features a sturdy body with enhanced waterproof capabilities. It can operate up to 18 meters underwater without a case, and with the waterproof case, users can dive safely up to an impressive 60 meters. The hydrophobic lens ensures clear visibility underwater, and a color temperature sensor enhances the true colors of water scenes without the need for complicated post-production adjustments.
Battery life is not an issue with the Osmo Action 4, as it packs a 1770mAh battery that can record 1080p/24fps video for up to 160 minutes at room temperature and up to 150 minutes at -20°C. The fast charging technology allows the camera to reach 80% capacity in just 18 minutes with the DJI 30W charger.
Audio quality is also top-notch, with an array of microphones and AI intelligent wind noise reduction ensuring clear sound even in windy conditions. For those who require extended transmission distance, the camera supports an external DJI Mic with a dual-channel wireless radio system, reaching up to 250 meters.
The Osmo Action 4 is available in two bundles: the Standard Combo priced at $399 and the Adventure Combo priced at $499. Both packages include essential accessories to enhance the shooting experience and cater to different user preferences.
