RedMagic 8S Pro Series Official Now
RedMagic, a leading gaming smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled its highly anticipated RedMagic 8S Pro series alongside its first e-Sports tablet. The highlight of the new series is the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Leading Version processor, which is overclocked at an impressive 3.36GHz. Previously exclusive to Samsung, RedMagic is the first manufacturer other than Samsung to feature this powerful processor.
The RedMagic 8S Pro series consists of two models: the 8S Pro and the 8S Pro+. Both models share similar specifications, with differences primarily in battery capacity, fast charging capabilities, and storage configurations.
The flagship 8S Pro+ boasts a stunning 6.8-inch under-screen front camera and straight-screen ultra-narrow edge display. The AMOLED flexible straight screen material offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2480 x 1116, providing gamers with a smooth and immersive visual experience. The display also features a 960Hz touch sampling rate and supports DCI-P3 color gamut with 100% accuracy.
Under the hood, the RedMagic 8S Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 mobile platform, a high-frequency version, which delivers a significant increase in performance with its main frequency of 3.36GHz. Additionally, RedMagic has incorporated its self-developed red core R2 gaming chip, further enhancing the gaming experience.
In terms of photography, the RedMagic 8S Pro+ features a powerful 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 main camera on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and an 8MP wide-angle lens. Notably, RedMagic is among the few brands that still prioritize under-screen lenses, and the 8S Pro+ incorporates a 16MP front camera underneath the display.
The device packs a substantial 5000mAh battery and supports 165W Magic Flash fast charging with a parallel triple charge pump. It runs on RedMagic OS 8.0, based on Android 13 development. With dimensions of 163.98 x 76.35 x 8.9mm and weighing 230g, the RedMagic 8S Pro+ strikes a balance between power and portability.
As expected from a gaming phone, the RedMagic 8S Pro+ prioritizes heat dissipation and includes the ICE 12 Magic Cooling System. It also offers a full-featured USB Type-C interface – USB 3.2 Gen1, and WiFi7 support.
The RedMagic 8S Pro+ comes in three different configurations and color options: Dark Knight and Silver Wing in 16GB + 256GB or 16GB + 512GB variants, and the Transparent version in 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB, or 24GB + 1TB variants. Prices start at 5499 yuan and go up to 7499 yuan, depending on the configuration.
For those seeking a more affordable option, the RedMagic 8S Pro offers similar specifications to the Pro+ model but with a larger 6000mAh battery and slightly reduced fast charging speed of 80W. The prices for different configurations of the RedMagic 8S Pro range from 3999 yuan to 5699 yuan.
Furthermore, RedMagic has introduced a special edition, the Transformers RedMagic 8S Pro+ Bumblebee Super Warrior Collection Edition. This edition features the same core specifications as the regular 8S Pro+ but with a Bumblebee-themed design on the packaging and rear shell. It is available only in the 16GB + 512GB variant, priced at 6499 yuan, and will be released in early August.
