Snapdragon Technology Summit 2023
Today, Qualcomm has officially announced the dates for this year’s Snapdragon Technology Summit 2023, which will take place from October 24th to 26th in Hawaii. The event is expected to have a faster pace compared to previous years. The highlight of the summit will undoubtedly be the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset, which will kickstart the next flagship smartphone war.

According to renowned blogger Digital Chat Station, smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset are set to debut in November. Among the first models to grab attention are the Xiaomi 14 series, known for its outstanding design experience, and the Vivo X100 series, which promises another breakthrough in camera technology. Other noteworthy models include the iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5, among others.
With a wide range of upcoming models, anticipation is high for each brand’s new offerings. The addition of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset is expected to deliver a significant performance improvement. As for the first model to feature this chipset, chances are it will be either the Xiaomi 14 or the Vivo X100.
The entire Xiaomi 14 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset. In contrast, the Vivo X100 will have different configurations. According to reports, the standard and Pro versions of the X100 will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chipset, which will launch earlier than the Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Only the top-tier Pro+ model of the Vivo X100 will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset. This arrangement benefits MediaTek as Vivo’s shipments can support their chipset.
In terms of specifications, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chipset is based on TSMC’s N4P process and features a new 1+5+2 architecture design. It includes one X4 super core, five A720 large cores, and two A520 small cores, along with the Adreno 750 GPU.
