Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 Official Now
Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5, also known as Xperia 1 V, is Sony’s latest flagship smartphone and boasts impressive features and technology advancements, especially in the camera department. Sony has been a leading supplier of CMOS sensors for high-end smartphones, and now, the company has showcased its technological prowess with the Exmor T dual-layer transistor pixel stack image sensor, which is the highlight of Xperia 1 Mark 5.
The IMX888, the main camera on the Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5, is a 24mm lens with a 1/1.35-inch sensor and 52MP full aspect ratio. The sensor features a 2-layer transistor pixel stack technology, with a photodiode in the first layer and a pixel transistor in the second layer, which works together to capture more light and reduce image noise. The sensor’s dark light shooting ability is impressive, with detailed textures and clear, colorful night scenes.

In low-light conditions, the Xperia 1 Mark 5’s noise control level is improved by about two times compared to its predecessor, and with Sony’s multi-frame synthetic noise reduction processing, it achieves ultra-sharp dark light shooting. The camera also features a 12MP IMX563 ultra wide-angle lens and a 12MP 85-125mm IMX650 F2.3-2.6 telephoto lens, with a 23mm IMX663 F2.0 lens on the front.

All rear lenses support 4K HDR 120fps video recording, eye autofocus, and real-time tracking focus. The front camera also achieves a 24mm wide angle, 12 megapixels, and supports 4K HDR 30fps video recording. Additionally, the lenses have been corrected with Zeiss quality lenses with T* coating.

One notable feature of the Xperia 1 Mark 5 is the inclusion of the mobile version of S-Cinetone, which eliminates the need for post-production color grading and makes it easy to shoot images with a cinematic feel.

The Xperia 1 Mark 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC and features a 6.5-inch 21:9 punchless display with 4K resolution (3860×1644p), real-time HDR technology (HDR 10, HLG), D65 white point calibration, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, X1 mobile image engine, CineAlta Master Mode and BT.2020 color standard. The front stereo hidden dual speakers are upgraded to full-range units with better sound pressure performance. The screen adds a 90Hz refresh rate switch and supports 240Hz touch scanning.

The Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 has 60% more graphene heat sink area than the Xperia 1 Mark 4, a new system scheduling and power consumption management scheme, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and support for 33W PD3.0 fast charging and Qi wireless charging. The phone has an IP65/68 dust and water resistance rating.
In terms of pricing, the Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at USD 1400. Overall, the Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 is a flagship smartphone with an impressive camera system, advanced technology, and premium features that make it a worthy contender in the high-end smartphone market.
