MediaTek Releases Dimensity 9200+

On May 10, 2023, MediaTek, a leading Taiwanese semiconductor company, released its new flagship chip, the Dimensity 9200+. The Dimensity 9200+ offers significant improvements over its predecessor, the Dimensity 9200, with an increase in CPU and GPU performance and energy efficiency optimization.

Compared to the Dimensity 9200, the Dimensity 9200+ CPU large core frequency has increased by 10%, while the small core frequency has increased by 11%. The single-core performance has also increased by 10%, and the multi-core performance has increased by 5%.

In addition, the GPU main frequency has increased by 17%, resulting in a performance increase of 10%. These improvements have allowed the Dimensity 9200+ to achieve a score of 1.36+ million points in the AnTuTu Benchmark test, which is 40,000 points higher than the previous strongest ROG Phone 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 in the Android camp, making it the current leader in performance.

One of the most impressive features of the Dimensity 9200+ is its energy efficiency optimization. In mainstream games, the Dimensity 9200+ can easily achieve a 20% power consumption advantage compared to the competition, thanks to its optimized power management system. This enables end products that use the Dimensity 9200+ to deliver stronger performance while reducing power consumption and heat generation, resulting in a more balanced user experience.

In addition to performance improvements and energy efficiency optimization, the Dimensity 9200+ also brings VRS technology, which dynamically adjusts the rendering effect according to the visual area. This allows for more efficient use of resources, reducing power consumption and further optimizing energy efficiency. The use of VRS technology will likely become increasingly important as high-quality gaming becomes more demanding on mobile devices.

The new iQOO Neo series will be the first to feature the Dimensity 9200+, with the Vivo X90s to follow.
