Honor has announced the launch of its latest flagship smartphone series, the Honor Magic5 Series. The company made the announcement at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) held on February 27, 2023. The Chinese launch of the new series is set to take place on March 6, 2023, when the Honor Magic5 Ultimate will be unveiled.

Honor Magic5 Series Introduction

Starting with the Honor Magic5, device features a 6.73-inch OLED quad-curved screen with a resolution of 2688 × 1224p and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, local peak brightness of 1600nit, and 1.07 billion color displays.

The front of the device features a 12MP selfie camera, while the rear features a triple camera setup with a 54MP (1/1.49″) main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 32MP (50x, OIS) periscope camera.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 flash memory. The device also features a separate security chip and a 5100mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.

The device has a thickness of just 7.8mm and weighs 191g. It comes in five colorways – Brown Blue, Tundra Green, Coral Purple, Burning Orange, and Glossy Black – and supports IR remote control, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC. The device runs on MagicOS 7.1 based on Android 13 and is priced at €899 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.

Moving on to the Honor Magic5 Pro, the device features a larger 6.81-inch quad-curved screen with a resolution of 2848 × 1312P and LTPO technology. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, global peak brightness of 1300nit, local peak brightness of 1800nit, Delta E of approximately 0.27, and 1.07 billion color displays. The screen is also HDR10+ and IMAX ENHANCED dual certified and has topped the world ranking on DXO with a score of 151.

The Honor Magic5 Pro features a 12MP + 3D depth-sensing camera on the front and a triple camera setup on the rear consisting of a 50MP (1.12″, OIS, f/1.6) primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP periscopic telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

The device is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor as the Honor Magic5 and comes with LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 flash memory, and a separate security chip. It also features a 5100mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The device has a thickness of 8.77mm and weighs 219g. It also comes with Infrared remote control, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 7, and IP68 dust and water resistance. The Honor Magic5 Pro is priced at €1199 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
