MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Introduction
MediaTek has officially launched its latest mobile platform, the Dimensity 7200, which marks the first release in the Dimensity 7000 series. Positioned below the Dimensity 8000 series, the Dimensity 7200 uses the same TSMC second-generation 4nm process as the flagship platform Dimensity 9200, making it a powerful and efficient mobile platform.
The CPU architecture of the Dimensity 7200 features an octa-core design, consisting of two Arm Cortex-A715 cores running at a maximum frequency of 2.8GHz and six Cortex-A510 cores. This allows the platform to handle multitasking with ease while delivering peak performance in applications.
The inclusion of the APU 650 AI processor enhances the platform’s efficiency in AI computation while minimizing power consumption. Additionally, the Arm Mali-G610 GPU integrated with the Dimensity 7200 provides fast response and high frame rate performance for an optimal gaming experience.

The MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine further improves the gaming experience by supporting advanced technologies such as AI-VRS variable rendering and intelligent modulation to reduce gaming power consumption, optimize battery life, and provide a smooth gaming experience.
The Imagiq 765, a 14-bit HDR-ISP image processor, is another key feature of the Dimensity 7200 platform, allowing for stunning images from a 200-megapixel main camera. The platform supports 4K HDR video recording and dual cameras for simultaneous FHD high-resolution video recording.
Additionally, the full-pixel autofocus technology locks focus at all times, while the motion-compensated time-domain noise reduction technology helps users capture sharper images in low-light conditions.
The AI processor APU 650 also supports real-time portrait beautification, making it an ideal choice for users who are passionate about mobile photography.
The Dimensity 7200’s advanced Sub-6GHz 5G modem offers a downlink rate of 4.7Gbps, dual-carrier aggregation, 5G dual SIM dual standby, and dual SIM VoNR. Additionally, MediaTek 5G UltraSave 2.0 power-saving technology ensures lower power consumption and longer battery life for 5G communications. The platform also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The Dimensity 7200 boasts impressive features such as up to 6400Mbps memory frequency and UFS 3.1 for maximum storage, MediaTek MiraVision Display with HDR supporting the latest standards including HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR, and up to Full HD+ and 144Hz for brilliant displays. The AI SDR-to-HDR video playback enhances multimedia experiences, while Bluetooth LE Audio technology and Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio provide wireless earbud support.
Devices with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 mobile platform are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2023. Vivo is expected to be one of the first manufacturers to introduce the V27 Series, which is set to debut in India on March 1st.
