OnePlus Ace 2 Official Now
OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone maker has just unveiled its latest flagship device, the OnePlus Ace 2. The phone is set to go on sale on February 13 and pre-orders will be opened later today.
OnePlus Ace 2 will come in three different storage configurations, with the 12GB + 256GB version priced at 2799 yuan ($412), the 16GB + 256GB version priced at 3099 yuan ($456), and the 16GB + 512GB version priced at 3499 yuan ($515).
The Ace 2 has been designed with a black hole-inspired aesthetic and comes in two colorways, Vast Black and Glacier Blue. It is 8.7mm thick, weighs 204g, and has a three-step ring slider.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor (3.2GHz), which is claimed to have the highest score of all Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 phones and is equipped with LPDDR5X memory, UFS 3.1 flash memory, and an exclusive custom professional rendering chip.
In terms of memory, the Ace 2 eliminates the 8GB memory option and popularizes the 16GB super memory, which is claimed to improve the utilization of 16GB memory through instantaneous bandwidth technology and reduce lag. The underlying architecture of Android memory has also been modified through asynchronous memory technology, reducing the number of frame losses by 50% under heavy load scenarios.
The Ace 2 also features a 6.74-inch 2772x1240p flexible OLED screen, a 5000mAh battery with 100W Super Flash Charge, a 50MP (Sony IMX890, OIS) main camera, an 8MP super-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera on the rear, and a 16MP center-perforated lens on the front.
The phone is also optimized for gaming, with the upgraded Game Stabilization Engine 2.0 and 12 high-performance gaming antennas + LinkBoost 4.0 network optimization, which helps reduce the number of high latency games in weak networks by up to 99.43%. The device also supports IR remote control, and spatial audio, and ships with ColorOS 13 based on Android 13.
