Apple HomePod 2nd Generation
Apple has recently released the new HomePod 2nd Generation smart speaker, which is now available for purchase on the company’s official website. The speaker is priced at 32,900 Indian rupees (or 299 USD) and comes in a white and midnight color scheme. The official release date is set for February 3.
One of the biggest upgrades of this new HomePod is its sound quality. The speaker features a custom high-amplitude woofer, a built-in bass equalizer microphone, and an array of five beamforming tweeters surrounding the bottom. The new HomePod is also powered by the S7 chip, which provides advanced computational audio that supports the recognition of six human voices as well as the Matter smart home standard.
The HomePod 2nd Generation also boasts indoor spatial sensing technology, which allows the speaker to identify the sound reflected from nearby surfaces and make real-time adjustments to the audio. This feature can also be used to set up automated operations.
Another notable feature of the HomePod 2nd Generation is its sound recognition function. The speaker can detect the alarm sound of smoke and carbon monoxide, and can send notifications to an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch after recognition.
