If this upgrade does not exciting for you, then you must wait for next year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra, which will introduce a brand new improved telephoto solution and new camera processing technology along with a new design for the exterior.
Telephoto
According to the Ice Universe, Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will come with a better telephoto camera sensor and an improved zoom mechanism. However, it is not clear what the new zoom solution will be.
In the meantime, LG Innotek has recently announced a new telephoto camera lens mechanism that offers a continuous zoom range of 4x to 9x. If Samsung could bring a similar zoom camera to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the results would be incredible.

Furthermore, Ice Universe speculated that S24 Ultra could have the same primary camera as its predecessor, the 200MP of Galaxy S23 Ultra, or bring only modest performance improvements.
Don’t lose heart, Samsung fans. You can wait for S24 Ultra if you want an excellent telephoto camera. Samsung’s cost control strategy can’t upgrade all cameras on the same flagship phone at the same time. since S23u has 200MP, Then the telephoto sensor can only remain unchanged.

New Camera Processing
In terms of new camera processing technology, recently Samsung issued a press release, teasing that it will significantly improve the 2024 Galaxy S24 series flagship camera part of imaging ability, especially in terms of video.
With the new “Nano-photonics technology” process, Samsung can create a new series of high-performance smartphone camera sensors that will not only improve the quality of video recording but also reduce power consumption and processing requirements. The sensors built with the new process introduce three key performance improvements to video capture:
- Improved low-light performance and reduced visual noise
- Increased dynamic range, or the ability to capture both dark shadows and bright highlights
- Depth sensing, allows the camera to create pleasing out-of-focus backgrounds while keeping the subject sharp, similar to rack focus.

With these three key performance improvements, Samsung expects the sensor’s video quality to be on par with that of a photo. In addition, with advanced software techniques such as multi-frame capture and AI-based processing, it will provide users with a superior video shooting experience.
Design
In terms of design, Samsung has recently hired Hubert H. Lee, the former chief design officer of Mercedes-Benz China, as executive vice president and head of the MX (Mobile Experience) design team to provide a higher-end ecological experience.
Mercedes-Benz can be said to be a very well-known luxury car brand in the automotive industry, and Lee has worked for Mercedes-Benz for more than 20 years and has a wealth of design experience.
Lee’s role at Samsung is as the head of the Mobile Experience design team, which means that he could design the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, which will launch in fall 2023, and the Galaxy S24 Series, which will launch in 2024. In a statement, Lee said he is very excited to join Samsung.
