MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Features and Specifications
This morning, MediaTek officially released the new Dimensity 8200 5G mobile chip. As the replacement of the previous generation of the popular sub-flagship SoC Dimensity 8100, the Dimensity 8200 had a very high level of buzz before it was even released.
In terms of specific parameters, the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 uses an advanced 4nm process with an octa-core CPU architecture containing four large Cortex-A78 cores at up to 3.1GHz and a Mali-G610 hexa-core GPU.
Specifically, Dimensity 8200 using TSMC 4nm process, CPU with 8-core design, 1 + 3 + 4 three cluster architecture, 4 Cortex-A78 large core + 4 Cortex-A55 small core, of which 1 A78 large core main frequency up to 3.1GHz. (3.1GHz × 1 + 3.0GHz × 3 + 2.0GHz × 4).
In terms of gaming performance, the Dimensity 8200 is equipped with MediaTek HyperEngine 6.0 gaming engine, which supports a variety of flagship technologies, including Intelligent Frame Stabilization 2.0, AI-VRS variable rate rendering, CPU multi-threading intelligent optimization, 5G fast channel, etc., allowing high frame games to run at full frame more consistently and reducing game lag and delay.
MediaTek Dimensity 8200 also supports adaptive refresh rate technology, which can intelligently adjust the refresh rate of the screen display according to the display content, bringing a smoother display effect.
In terms of imaging, the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 features the Imagiq 785 image processor (ISP), which supports a 320MP main camera and 3 cameras for simultaneous 14-bit HDR video.
The chip supports movie mode, which tracks focus in real-time when recording video through dual cameras, rendering a more natural multi-level depth of field effect. The Dimensity 8200 also supports AI Noise Reduction (AI-NR) function to capture image details accurately and quickly even in dark light environments.
In terms of network process, the Dimensity 8200 integrates a 5G modem and supports 5G Sub-6GHz full-band network and tri-carrier aggregation. In addition, the Dimensity 8200 also supports Wi-Fi 6E, which provides faster network transmission rates and 2×2 antennas for higher performance and a more reliable wireless network connection experience.
MediaTek AI processor APU 580 is designed with energy-efficient architecture, providing powerful AI computing power while reducing power consumption of AI applications, supporting new AI applications and features such as multimedia and camera, and unlocking new AI experiences.
In addition to the above, the features of the Dimensity 8200 5G mobile chip include

Smartphones using MediaTek Dimensity 8200 5G mobile chip are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2022, with the first model being iQOO’s Neo7 SE, in addition to Redmi’s new K60E, which has also been officially announced to be the first to be equipped with the chip.
