The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 First Batch List

In the middle of this month, Qualcomm held simultaneous technology summit events in Hawaii and Sanya to officially announce its latest flagship mobile platform, Snapdragon 8 Gen2.

After the release of the new chipset, the major cell phone manufacturers have announced that their flagships will be the first to carry, not only Vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi, Honor, and other Android makers, but even Meizu also joined forces with the star era on the first list. But to our surprise, Samsung, Black Shark, and Realme were absent from the first list.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 First Batch List

Previously there was news that due to Tencent’s abandonment of the acquisition, Black Shark was recently shrinking the number of jobs significantly. With job cuts involving various departments of the company and layoffs of up to 50%.

At present, the new products of the Black Shark Gaming Phone stay on the Black Shark 5 Series, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor. On other hand, competitors have launched Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 flagship and announced the first batch of 8 Gen2, Black Shark but still, no new product news is out.

As for Realme, there is news that the flagship has been delayed because it was cut. Unlike the Black Shark and Realme, Samsung is said to be exclusive to the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen2 overclocked version, so it is also absent from the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 first batch list.

According to Qualcomm’s official data, Snapdragon 8 Gen2 has 35% higher CPU performance and 40% less power consumption, 25% higher GPU performance and 45% less power consumption, and supports mobile Ray Tracing and Unreal Engine 5 Metahuman framework.
