Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Geekbench, Availablity, and New Light Mode
Recently, the media has exposed Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 Series of cell phones, from the content, Galaxy S23 will use Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processors across the board, and Exynos processors from this generation will not appear in the flagship models.
From Samsung’s past release habits, the Galaxy series of phones in addition to the thundering use of Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, in South Korea, Europe, and other markets will be launched using Samsung’s own Exynos processor version of the phone, but its sales are far less than the use of Snapdragon processor models.
It is reported that Samsung has tried to capture the market through the 5nm and 4nm process of Exynos chips, but the 4nm version is limited by production, performance, and heat, and did not reach Samsung’s stated goal, so the Exynos processor will likely only appear in Samsung mid-range phones.
In addition, Samsung Galaxy S23 Series models – S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra also passed through Geekbench, all of them equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen2, with no trace of Exynos 2300.
Among them, Galaxy S23, model SM-S911U, scores 1524 points for single-core and 4597 points for multi-core; the Galaxy S23+, model SM-S916U, scores 1485 single-core, 4844 multi-core points; and Galaxy S23 Ultra, model SM-S918U, scores 1521 single-core, 4689 multi-core.

Furthermore, Geekbench also uncovered Snapdragon 8 Gen2 core specifications. The processor’s CPU architecture is 1 × 3.36GHz Cortex-X3 super core + 2 × 2.8GHz Cortex-A715 + 2 × 2.8GHz Cortex-A710 large core + 3 × 2.02GHz Cortex-A510 small core.
Furthermore, this time, Samsung also tested Light Mode (Low Power Mode) for Galaxy S23 Series, which will reduce power consumption by decreasing performance, without affecting refresh rates.

In terms of release date and availability, a business official familiar with Samsung said, “Samsung Electronics is planning to hold an Unpacked event in San Francisco, USA in the first week of February next year to unveil its next product.” Considering that Samsung Electronics has usually held a public event and released the product on ‘Friday in two weeks, the Galaxy S23 series is expected to be available for purchase around February 17 next year.
