Meta Quest Pro and Snapdragon XR2+
At Meta Connect 2022, Mark Zuckerberg announced Meta Quest Pro with the Snapdragon XR2+ platform. A new XR platform was developed to help the next generation of mixed reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR) devices achieve power and thermal performance improvements.

Snapdragon XR2+ delivers a 50 percent increase in battery life and a 30 percent improvement in cooling compared to the Snapdragon XR2 platform, enabling a richer immersive metaverse experience in a smaller, thinner device form factor.
Snapdragon XR2+ introduces a new image processing pipeline that enables sub-10ms latency to enable a superior full-color video-transparent MR experience. The platform supports parallel perception technologies including head, gesture, and grip tracking, 3D reconstruction, and low latency video see-through.
Seven parallel cameras support the integration of real and virtual worlds into a full MR experience through video perspective, precise motion tracking, and automatic room map construction.
At the same time, the platform’s high pixel density enables PC-level virtual landscapes and the ability to support multiple sensors and cameras simultaneously, giving more realistic virtual characters with detailed facial expressions.
The Quest Pro is the first device to feature the new flagship Snapdragon XR2+ platform. Meta Quest Pro is the fourth XR device from Meta and Qualcomm and represents a significant leap forward in high-end VR all-in-one hardware.
Snapdragon’s leading technologies and platforms empower the Meta Quest Pro headset and Meta Quest Touch Pro grip to achieve ultra-low latency and support a more immersive experience.
