Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen2 Exposure
This year Qualcomm commercialized Snapdragon 7 Gen1 mobile platform, but not widely used, only OPPO Reno 8 Pro and Xiaomi Civi 2 two models are currently equipped.
This could be due to minor improvements over the previous Snapdragon 778G Plus. Specifically, the Snapdragon 7 Gen1 AnTuTu Benchmark’s around 560,000 points, and the Snapdragon 778G Plus is around 540,000 points.
Therefore, the upcoming new Snapdragon 7 Series is the key product for Qualcomm to battle in the mid-range smartphone market. In this regard, Roland Quandt shared details about the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen2 chipset.
According to the report, Qualcomm is testing a new Snapdragon 7 Series chipset named SM7475 with a “1+3+4” tri-cluster design, consisting of a very large core (Prime), three large cores (gold), and four small cores (silver). Among them, prime and gold cores are clocked at around 2.4 GHz, and silver cores are clocked at 1.8 GHz.
In addition, the new Snapdragon 7 Gen2 will also be manufactured by TSMC using a 4nm process. Previously, the Digital Chat Station revealed that Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen1’s successor is later than MediaTek Dimensity 8000 Series upgrade. So Qualcomm this mid-range mobile platform may have to wait until 2023 to see it.
