Huawei Mate 50 Pro Camera Features/Specifications
Today morning, Huawei terminal official microblogging announced the new Huawei Mate50 Series’s features – support variable aperture with hard-core control.
The video sent out with the text shows that the Huawei Mate50, in addition to variable aperture, will also be the first time on the new machine to carry the imaging technology called XMAGE, the so-called “self-developed image technology” which has never been seen before.
Variable aperture as the name implies is the size of the aperture that can be adjusted to support at least two stops of aperture change, to better match the use of scenarios, such as dark scenes opening a large aperture, and then reducing the aperture in bright light.

This is not a new technology, this thing was first used in 2009 Nokia N86, F2.4/3.2/4.8 three variable aperture. Later smartphone era, Samsung W2018 did F1.5/2.4 two variable aperture, and Samsung S9/S10 series continued down. Now some Sony phones are still in use.
But the previous cell phone sensor size is very small, and the amount of light is the main constraint, unless, on the F1.5 or more large aperture, daytime light scenes are not easy to overexpose. Later, the large bottom sensor began to popularize, and variable aperture is gradually abandoned. Let’s see what new tricks Huawei can do this time.
According to several reports, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro camera will use the new variable aperture technology, and the lens aperture can be adjusted between F1.4 ~ and F4. In addition Huawei Mate50 Pro specifications includes 50MP IMX766 1/1.5″ main camera + 13MP IMX688 ultra-wide angle + 40MP IMX600 black and white primary color lens + 64MP OV64B 3.5X periscope.
