In the official Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 promotional video released by Xiaomi yesterday, the folding screen flagship shows off its amazing thickness, with a body just a little thicker than the Type-C connector.
But the video is after all rendered, coupled with the loss of the previous generation, many netizens are not quite convinced that Mix Fold 2 can reach this thickness. But then Lei Jun posted an official announcement that the thickness of the Mix Fold 2 is 5.4mm, and said it is incredibly thick.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 also introduced Xiaomi’s self-developed integrated micro-drop form spindle, which brings a smaller micro drop radius to the phone through a shorter spindle width, and also brings a thinner hands-on experience for users.
In addition, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 official renderings brought more attention to it, which were leaked through the official Xiaomi Wallet App. In the poster, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 and Xiaomi 12S Ultra both poses together, showing Xiaomi’s technological strength.
The poster reveals the back of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 foldable display phone, carrying a horizontal camera module design. There is a total of three cameras, one taking extremely large space, and two smaller sensors next to it. Among them, one is circular, while the other one is rectangular, and there is also Leica’s branding.
In addition to the 5.4mm thickness of unfolded state, the folded state thickness is 11.4mm including the camera bump and weights 202 grams. Compared with the previous generation, Xiaomi MIX Fold is 7.62mm thick when unfolded, 17.2mm when folded, and weighs 317g.
According to previous news, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor, uses side fingerprint unlock, built-in Leica image, offering Leica Classic and Leica Vivid two image quality options, as well as the same Leica custom filters, Leica Classic shutter sound, Leica watermark and so on.
In terms of battery life, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has a battery capacity of 4500mAh and supports 67W wired fast charging, so there should be no problem with a day’s charge for normal use. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will debut on August 11, interested parties can pay attention to tomorrow’s launch.
