From this week, Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 flagship phones have started to be listed and officially announced one after another. From the current multiple sources, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 that switched to TSMC’s 4nm process is not a minor upgrade compared to its predecessor.

The Snapdragon 8+ has been significantly improved in performance while significantly reducing power consumption, which makes it much better than its predecessor in terms of heat generation and battery life. The outstanding performance also managed to suppress the Dimensity 9000+, making Qualcomm pull back again.

However, the first Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 phone is still short, and more products are still in the official announcement and exposure stage. The Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is expected to be mass-produced in November with upgraded and adjusted architecture.

Today, sources hinted that the Xiaomi 13 Series with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chip is made of ceramic material and is OEM’d by BYD Electronic. Source pointed out that the engineering test machine used ceramic material, while there is also a glass version, not sure if the mass production machine will retain the ceramic version.
