In February, Qualcomm announced FastConnect 7800, the world’s first and fastest commercial Wi-Fi 7 solution and the industry’s most advanced mobile Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity system, with peak transmission speeds of up to 5.8Gbps and latency of less than 2ms.

In May, Qualcomm also released the Networking Pro x20 series, the world’s most scalable commercial Wi-Fi 7 professional networking solution, with a maximum system physical layer (PHY) rate of up to 33Gbps, and an increased wireless physical layer rate of 11.5Gbps for a single channel, and a single channel user capacity of more than 500.

Qualcomm today announced the launch of a new RF front-end module that supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 6E, and next-generation Wi-Fi 7 for automotive, XR extended reality, PC, wearables, mobile broadband, IoT, and many other scenarios. The module is designed to create a superior Wi-Fi and Bluetooth experience that will bring outstanding wireless performance to automotive and IoT devices.

According to the introduction, the Wi-Fi 7 RF front-end module incorporates the key components needed between the Wi-Fi baseband chip and antenna to amplify and adapt the signal to support optimal wireless transmission. With this module, manufacturers can quickly and cost-effectively develop Wi-Fi devices.

Qualcomm’s new RF front-end module, which supports 5G and Wi-Fi coexistence, can also work with Qualcomm’s ultraBAW filter to support 5G/Wi-Fi concurrency.

Manufacturers can use it in combination with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth wireless connectivity system, Snapdragon 5G baseband, and RF system for devices based on Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, and also with third-party Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets.

Qualcomm said the new RF front-end module is being prototyped for customers, and related commercial end devices are expected to be available in the second half of this year.
