Today’s morning, MediaTek officially released the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus mobile processor. According to the name can be seen, is last year’s Dimensity 9000‘s upgrade version.

It is reported that MediaTek has rarely launched a small upgrade version of the SoC, at this time the launch will inevitably make people think of Snapdragon’s annual launch of the frequency version, with the obvious intention of benchmarking.

MediaTek introduces the Dimensity 9000+ is still TSMC 4nm process to build, using Arm V9 CPU architecture, compared to the Dimensity 9000, Dimensity 9000 Plus CPU performance increased by 5%, GPU performance increased by 10%.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ CPU is consisting of a Cortex-X2 large core + three Cortex-A710 cores + four Cortex-A510 cores, where the X2 large core frequency increased to 3.2GHz (Dimensity 9000 is 3.05GHz).

The GPU is also Mali-G710 MC10, not stacked up cores, if the official claim of 10% performance increases, should only pull up the frequency gain.

Other than that, the other parameters of the Dimensity 9000+ are the same as the Dimensity 9000, and on paper, the parameters look like a small upgrade, not as obvious as the Snapdragon 8 to Snapdragon 8 Plus.

Advanced features, Dimensity 9000+ supports LPDDR5X memory at rates up to 7500Mbps, equipped with MediaTek’s fifth-generation Al processor APU, and M80 5G modem.

The 5th generation MediaTek Al processor APU with built-in M80 5G modem is compliant with the new generation 3GPP R16 5G standard and supports Sub-6GHz 5G full-band network. In other aspects, there is an 18-bit HDR-ISP image signal processor.

In terms of wireless networking and audio technology, the Dimensity 9000+ supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies with lower latency, including Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi6E 2×2 MIMO, and Bluetooth LEAudio (which provides dual-link true wireless stereo support), and BeiDou III-B1C GNSS.

MediaTek said that the terminal models equipped with the Dimensity 9000+ will be available in the third quarter of 2022, who will be the first to be launched? We’ll see.
