Apple’s Perfect iPhone – iPhone 16 Pro Series
In 2017, after the launch of the iPhone X, Apple continued using a notch cut-out display scheme. So, when will Apple eliminate the notch cut-out elements and achieve a true full-screen? The latest answer given by well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is 2024, which is the iPhone 16 Series.
Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that technologies like under-display front camera and under-display Face ID will be applied to the high-end model iPhone 16 Pro. He specifically mentioned that low light is detrimental to the imaging of the under-display front camera, which places particularly high demands on the ISP as well as the algorithm.

“I think the real full-screen iPhone will come in 2024. High-end iPhones in 2024 would adopt an under-display front camera alongside the under-display Face ID. A low-light condition is detrimental to front camera quality, and ISP & algorithm are critical for quality improvements.” – Ming-Chi Kuo.
Although Guo Ming-Chi also previously disclosed that Apple was considering getting on board with an under-display fingerprint scanner, that idea has been overturned and Apple still wants to focus on Face ID recognition technology.
As for this year’s iPhone 14 series, the two regular versions still have small notch cut-out, but the iPhone 14 Pro models will take the final step before realizing the true full-screen, called as the exclamation point-style dual punch-hole + pile shaped cut-out.
