OPPO Own Cell Phone SoC
Last December, OPPO officially released the first self-research chip MariSilicon X, using TSMC 6nm process to build the NPU chip, currently it’s Find X5 Pro has been installed on the market. OPPO will not stop here, it is said that there are ISP signal processors, baseband chips, and cell phone SoC.
Recently, according to a report from an industry insider, OPPO’s IC design subsidiary Shanghai Zheku has already carried out application processor (AP) and cell phone system-on-chip (SoC) research and development.
In terms of timing, the first AP is expected to be launched in 2023, built on TSMC’s 6nm and 5nm process, and the cell phone SoC integrating AP and data machine (Modem) will be launched in 2024, with TSMC’s 4nm process cast.
However, industry analysis, OPPO is expected to launch a 4nm cell phone SoC two years later, but the process adoption and performance design may not be compared with Qualcomm, and MediaTek, which can first try in the low-end product line, to gradually enhance the penetration rate.

Previously, there is news that the OPPO chip team has reached the scale of thousands of people, and per capita annual salary of more than one million. According to OPPO founder Chen Mingyong, the reason why the first chip named MariSilicon, is derived from the deepest part of the world’s oceans – Marianas Trench, is a way to show that OPPO’s self-research chip road beyond imagination.
