Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Series new chips may be unveiled on the same stage as Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus flagship processors, which will debut in May at the earliest, with related terminals likely to be released in June.
Recently, Digital Chat Station exposed some details of Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chip. It is reported that the Snapdragon 7 series chip consists of 4 Cortex A710 large cores and 4 Cortex A510 small cores, the GPU is Adreno 662, it is not sure if it is Samsung or TSMC process to build.
As we all know, the large core of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is Cortex A710 and the small core is Cortex A510, the time Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series also adopts the same large core of Snapdragon 8 Gen1, which is called Snapdragon 7 Gen1.
Compared to the Cortex-A78, the width of the Cortex-A710 branch unit has been reduced from 6 to 5, improving energy efficiency. A pipeline stage has been removed in scheduling to improve the efficiency of scheduling.
It is worth noting that last year Xiaomi premiered and had exclusive access to the Snapdragon 780G chip, with the first model being the Xiaomi 11 Lite. The new Snapdragon 7 series is already on its way and does not rule out the possibility of Xiaomi debuting it again.
The current Snapdragon 7 series chip used in most mid-range phones is the Snapdragon 778G, which uses a 6nm process. The Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU offers an overall performance increase of up to 40%, and the Adreno 642L GPU offers a graphics rendering speed increase of up to 40% over the previous generation platform.
