Samsung Galaxy Z Slide With Transparent Display
Recently, Samsung published a new patent showing Samsung’s study on the development of a partially transparent and scrolling display cell phone. As early as July 2021, Samsung Electronics submitted a patent to World Intellectual Property Office. The 97-page document was published on March 10, 2022, spotted by Letsgodigital and produced some renderings.
It describes a Samsung Galaxy smartphone with an extendable screen and an interface that automatically adjusts according to usage. The patent shows that the display extends from the right side to the back of the smartphone. Thus, in its most compact form, it is a two-sided display phone. It is also possible to separate the display section on the back from the housing to create a larger screen area.
You can further rotate the screen so that it stands upright, similar to a laptop, allowing multiple applications to be used at the same time. This design is ideal for work and ideal entertainment. When the display is placed upright, the back can be supported to prevent it from accidentally falling out, plus it comes with an S-Pen.
The document also shows that Samsung wants the device to be paired with a transparent screen. To make the screen transparent, a polarizing plate is used. The degree of transparency can range from fully transparent to partially translucent. When the user wants to take a picture, the display will become transparent and allow the camera to take a picture. Filter types can also be selected, such as UV filters, neutral L-filters, and polarizing filters.
