Degraded Performance of Galaxy S22 Series
Recently Twitter blogger complained that some games fluctuate a lot when playing, many people think it is a deficiency of Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
According to media reports, the Galaxy S22 series lagged when getting started with the game, mainly because of the “performance limits” on the CPU by Samsung’s Game Optimizing Service (GOS), which was done to achieve a balance between performance and heat dissipation.
GOS launches when the game is run, and oddly enough, non-gaming applications like Microsoft Office and YouTube Vanced are also on the optimization list.
There is also homegrown software such as Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pay, Samsung Pass, and Dialer that are on the optimization list, and these programs do not fully unlock the full performance of the processor.
Whether renaming games to the names of benchmarking apps like Geekbench would yield a significant boost in performance is unknown at this point. If there will be a significant increase, this indicates that Samsung deliberately boosted the processor frequency to make the runtime score higher.
In short, Samsung has blocked some of the performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and Exynos 2200 through GOS, and although the chipmaker says that energy efficiency and power consumption management have improved, and Samsung has improved the phone’s cooling solution, users still cannot use the full performance of the CPU.
Currently, the service cannot be turned off by itself, and third-party software is required to turn it off. Some reports claim that Samsung is aware of the problem and is now actively addressing it, and an official statement was also released.

Samsung Respond to Degraded Performance of Galaxy S22 Series.
Hello, Samsung Electronics is continuously working to expand user options and provide optimal performance by collecting opinions from customers.
GOS (Game Optimizing Service) of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is a built-in app that optimizes CPU and GPU performance to prevent excessive heat generation during long gameplay.
To meet the needs of various customers recently, we plan to implement an SW update that provides a performance priority option in the game booster lab in the game launcher app as soon as possible.
We will continue to listen to consumers’ opinions and do our best for customer satisfaction and consumer protection. Thank you.
