Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 | Qualcomm FastConnect 7800
Besides the Snapdragon X70 5G modem, Qualcomm recently announced the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 solution at MWC 2022, the launch of FastConnect 7800, the world’s most advanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless solution, the world’s first commercial Wi-Fi 7 solution, and the fastest and lowest latency Wi-Fi product to date.

FastConnect 7800 fully supports all the features of Wi-Fi 7, supporting the 3 major frequency bands of 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz, high-frequency multi-connection concurrent technology, 4-way dual-band and feature expansion to high-frequency bands, 4K QAM modulation technology, and peak transmission speed of up to 5.8Gbps, an increase of up to 60% over the previous generation.
However, the premise of achieving this extreme speed is to use the 6GHz band, 320MHz channel, or paired 160MHz channel to achieve. And in areas where the 6GHz band is not available (such as China), the 160MHz and 80MHz new to the 5GHz band can be combined into a 240MHz bandwidth, with a maximum speed of 4.3Gbps.

It is worth mentioning that aggregation of the high-frequency band, can release the traditional 2.4GHz band, dedicated to Bluetooth, IoT connections, thus avoiding the congestion of different connections and devices.
In addition, the new solution latency of less than 2ms, compared with the previous generation to reduce the full 50%, energy efficiency is improved by 30-50%, can greatly extend the device life.
Bluetooth, the program supports Bluetooth 5.3, LE Audio, ANT+, dual Bluetooth (2×2), Snapdragon Sound Snapdragon listening technology, can bring 16-bit 44.1kHz CD-level lossless Bluetooth sound quality, 24-bit 96kHz ultra-high-definition Bluetooth sound quality, 32kHz ultra-broadband voice calls, 68ms audio latency Gaming mode, lag-free gaming experience and in-game voice chat, stereo recording, and robust connectivity in complex and congested RF environments.
Officials claim to offer 50 percent lower power consumption, 2x faster-pairing speeds, and 2x greater signal reception range than its predecessor.
FastConnect 7800 will available for commercial use in the second half of this year, with the first customers including Acer, Asus, Honor, Meta, OPPO, Tencent, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc.
