BOE f-OLED Flexible N-shaped Foldable Display
Today, BOE announced that, following the flexible 360° folding, innovative development of f-OLED flexible “N” shaped foldable display technology, support in a screen can achieve both internal and external folding.
According to the introduction, BOE f-OLED flexible “N” shape folding display prototype, equipped with the original size of 12.3 inches of flexible AMOLED display, after an external folding fold can become 8.6 inches size, and then after an internal folding fold can become a super portable form of 5.6 inches.
When the flexible screen is fully unfolded, it can be used as a wide entertainment and work platform, where audio and video, games, schedule, notes, emails, contacts, and other information can be presented in front of the user on the whole screen, and support multiple application windows on the same screen, eliminating the trouble of repeatedly switching programs.
When the first section of the flexible screen is stowed (external folding only), the horizontal work platform can be easily transformed into a vertical conference and video calling platform.
When the display is fully stored (external fold + internal fold), the body can be transformed into a portable device with a thickness of 2cm and a size of 5.6 inches, which can be easily stored in a coat pocket.
BOE said that the product applies BOE’s own intellectual property slip compensation hinge system, which significantly improves the strength of the screen module, and guarantees the reliability of the screen during the movement of the inner fold + outer fold based on meeting the small radius folding, and also makes improvements in the control of the rotating axis water drop bending form and the module bending path.
Finally, the flexible “N” shaped folding display with light folding marks has been realized, and the folding life of R3 teardrop in the inner fold reaches 200,000 times, and that of R5 in the outer fold reaches 100,000 times, which is the leading level in the industry.
