OPPO Find X5 Pro with Five-axis Stabilization
Today, OPPO warmed up the Find X5 series by announcing the debut of the OPPO Find X5 Pro with five-axis stabilization, a more powerful anti-shake technology than traditional OIS optical anti-shake.
The OPPO’s five-axis stabilization is body stabilization + lens stabilization, the benefit is that the axis of stabilization increases to achieve the true 5-axis, while the magnitude of stabilization increases to achieve three times the amount of general OIS stabilization.
Anti-shake eventually brings the shutter time and the quality of the data entered to improve the film rate and capture quality, for video anti-shake quality has improved (compared to just EIS), while the change in the safety shutter time also improves the quality of the picture.

This technology was previously showcased by OPPO at the Future of Imaging 2021 conference, where it applied the five-axis optical stabilization of professional-grade cameras to cell phones for the first time. It is said that OPPO’s five-axis stabilization technology can achieve five-axis anti-shake operations of pitch, pan, horizontal pan, vertical pan, and rotation in a small body space.
The maximum anti-shake range of horizontal and vertical translation can reach ±3°, which is 65% higher than the common OIS optical anti-shake capability, and the anti-shake accuracy is also increased to 3.5 times, bringing the anti-shake effect almost close to that of professional SLR cameras. Specifically in the use of scenarios, OPPO five-axis anti-shake technology in the dark environment will capture the film rate increased by 70%, which is called the cell phone anti-shake ceiling.
To put it simply, the body stabilization + lens stabilization, the benefit is that the axis of stabilization increased to achieve the true 5-axis, while the magnitude of stabilization increased, can achieve the general OIS three times the amount of stabilization. The anti-shake eventually brings about an increase in shutter time and the quality of the data entered, mostly improving the film rate and capture quality, for video stabilization quality has improved (compared to just EIS), while the change in the safety shutter time, but also to improve the quality of the picture.

In terms of sensors, the OPPO Find X5 Pro front is Sony IMX709 and the rear is IMX766. The IMX766 is said to be about three times the cost of the ordinary IMX766 module, and the individual module volume has also doubled more. This 1/1.58 module size is almost equal to the 1/1.28 module size.
According to the official video, OPPO’s “levitation anti-shake” should be a similar sensor displacement anti-shake technology, the official said in the video, the sensor can “nod back and forth”, “shake the head left and right”, “rotate the head”, the anti-shake range 3 times higher.
Pete Lau said that the cell phone image has come to today, from simply competing for high pixels, to competing for the number of multiple cameras, and then competing for large base size and computational image capabilities, but in fact, any single technology is not the only direction to determine the image.
So this time OPPO Find X5 series camera is one of the major upgrades, is the new suspension anti-shake. Traditional anti-shake only supports a single lens or sensor, OPPO suspension anti-shake can support both sensor displacement anti-shake and lens optical anti-shake, up to 5 directions to offset the shake, anti-shake effect increased by 3 times.
Pete Lau emphasized that this most luxurious anti-shake system of the OPPO Find X5 series is currently only available in professional cameras, and OPPO is the first brand to bring this hardware-level five-axis anti-shake to the top of cell phones.
In addition, the OPPO Find X5 series is the world’s first self-developed chip MariSilicon X, a 6nm image-specific NPU chip OEMed by TSMC. OPPO introduced the MariSilicon X integrated with OPPO’s self-developed, industry-leading image processing unit, which can support up to 20bit image processing and Ultra HDR ultra-dynamic range, with a picture light ratio of up to 1000000:1, four times the performance of the current top platform.

With the MariSilicon X and the five-axis stabilization and in conjunction with the large bottom main camera, the OPPO Find X5 Pro camera performance is worth looking forward to, which will debut on February 24.
