Xiaomi 12 Pro Screen Characteristics
Xiaomi official today continues to warm up for the upcoming new Xiaomi 12 series to be released on the 28th, and today brings screen information of Xiaomi 12 Pro, almost all aspects of the top configuration:
- New E5 light-emitting material,
- Second-generation LTPO material,
- Mirco-Lens micro-prism technology,
- Xiaomi’s research on intelligent dynamic refresh rate technology.
In these screen technologies, Samsung’s E5 luminous material as early as the iQOO8 Pro we have seen, and the second generation LTPO material is also in yesterday evening when the CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau has gave a preview for OnePlus 10 Pro, but Xiaomi 12 Pro will debut first.
This afternoon, officially posted a detailed analysis of LTPO 2.0 technology, saying that Xiaomi 12 Pro based on the second generation LTPO material, Xiaomi 12 Pro can do 1Hz-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, give full play to the low-power characteristics of LTPO, and bring intelligent refresh rate adjustment in different scenarios within the application.

Lei Jun said, “intelligent dynamic refresh rate” is currently one of the most advanced and refined frequency conversion technology, not according to the different applications of simple frequency lock, nor “one size fits all” global 120Hz, but for different content and operations, intelligent matching of the optimal refresh rate, to avoid additional power consumption caused by an invalid screen refresh.
For example, sliding page 120Hz is extremely smooth, video 60 frames are matched with 60Hz refresh rate, watching static text or pictures is at 10Hz refresh rate, and all these can be dynamically and instantaneously adjusted within an application according to each user’s operation and each kind of content.

At the same time, the Xiaomi 12 Pro screen may also be one of the most advanced screen technologies available, allowing Android phones to be the first to break through the technical barrier of sliding variable speed. When a finger slides the screen, the refresh rate will be precisely synchronized according to the sliding speed to achieve automatic variable speed. Making each swipe not only smooth but also more energy-efficient.
Note that this feature is currently only supported by some of Xiaomi’s applications, and third-party apps need to be adapted gradually in the future.
