MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Benchmarking Score Calculated: Stronger CPU, Weaker GPU Compared to 8 Gen1

MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Benchmarking Score

Yesterday, MediaTek held a strategic conference, officially launched MediaTek’s most powerful cell phone chip to date: Dimensity 9000. This chip uses TSMC’s 4nm process and consists of one Cortex-X2 3.05GHz mega-core and three Cortex-A710 2.85GHz large cores and four Cortex-A510 energy-efficient cores, with a comprehensive AnTuTu score of over 1 million.

After the release of MediaTek Dimensity 9000, OPPO, Vivo, Redmi, and other brands have announced that they will use this chip. In addition, Xu Qi Chase, vice president of Realme, posted an article hinting that Realme will also use the Dimensity 9000.

The first is Dimensity 9000 AnTuTu Benchmark score on version v9.0.7. The total score is 1017488 points, CPU score 256987, GPU score 393810, MEM score 186890, UX scores 179801.

As a comparison, the official AnTuTu had previously announced v 9.2.1 version, 8GB + 512GB Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 development prototype run scores, the total score 1031751 points, CPU score 229976, GPU score 453190, MEM score 177467, UX score 171118.

Due to the different versions, it is impossible to quantify the comparison. But overall, we can judge that the comprehensive performance of Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is in the same class, each has its advantages and disadvantages. The CPU performance of Dimensity 9000 is stronger, while the GPU is at a disadvantage.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Benchmarking Score

GeekBench v5.1 scores, the Dimensity 9000 single-core score 1273, multi-core score 4324 points. The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 scores 1226 single-core and 3847 multi-core. In other words, the single-core performance of the CPU of the Dimensity 9000 is the same as that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the multi-core score is about 12% ahead.

GFXBench scores: Manhattan 3.0 238 fps (Snapdragon 8: 268 fps), Manhattan 3.1 162 fps (Snapdragon 8: 176 fps), Aztec 1440P Vulkan 43 fps (Snapdragon 8: 49 fps), Aztec 1440P OpenGL 42 fps (Snapdragon 8: 43 fps).

In other words, from the official score data, the CPU performance of Dimensity 9000 is about 13.7% ahead of Snapdragon 8 Gen1, and the GPU performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is about 2~14% ahead of Dimensity 9000, both of them have a back and forth fight, looking forward to the actual test of Dimensity 9000 production machine.
