Qualcomm Announced Snapdragon Brand Independence: Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Coming
Qualcomm has officially announced that the Snapdragon chip brand has made some major changes, including the logo and naming, according to the official news.
Qualcomm said that the Snapdragon brand will be independent and will become an independent product brand in the future, with specific links to Qualcomm’s brand where appropriate, meaning that Qualcomm and Snapdragon will no longer appear in parallel.
Snapdragon also has a new brand identity, with a more pronounced and overall distinctive iconic fireball logo for enhanced recognition and a cleaner, more modern, and intuitive look.
Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon brand is independent and the three digits of the gold color of the Snapdragon chip will only be used to represent the top products, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor.
The abolition of three-digit naming is noteworthy in terms of naming, providing a new simplified and consistent naming structure, the end of three-digit naming, only a numerical proxy, and naming no additional emphasis on 5G. So the previously rumored Snapdragon 4nm flagship processor is no longer Snapdragon 898, and will most likely be Snapdragon 8 Gen1 open.
As planned, Qualcomm will hold its annual Snapdragon Technology Summit 2021 from November 30 to December 2, when further news on Snapdragon’s mobile platform will be announced.
