Qualcomm’s Four New Processors
Recently, Qualcomm brought four new processors in mid-range, the specific models are Snapdragon 778G+, Snapdragon 695 5G, Snapdragon 480+ 5G, and Snapdragon 680 4G, these four chips are improvements and enhancements of the existing models.
The Snapdragon 778G+ is an upgrade to the Snapdragon 778G, from 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz increase in main frequency and a slight increase in CPU and GPU performance as well as AI performance.
Snapdragon 695 5G upgraded to 2×2.2GHz A78 large core + TSMC n6 process + Adreno 619 with millimeter-wave and Sub-6GHz support. Compared to Snapdragon 690, Snapdragon 695 has 30% faster graphics rendering and 15% higher CPU performance.
With Snapdragon 480+ 5G CPU frequency from 2.0GHz to 2.2GHz, the processor will further drive 5G penetration, giving users access to globally oriented 5G and enhanced performance.
The Snapdragon 680 4G is a dedicated LTE-oriented SoC with no 5G support and a 6nm process, mainly to fill the gap in the product line and build for regions where 5G is not yet covered in part.
Four new Snapdragon 5G and 4G mobile platforms are expected to be commercially available in the fourth quarter of 2021, with several new Xiaomi and Redmi devices to be equipped with Snapdragon 778G+, while OPPO will be the first to release Snapdragon 695 5G-equipped end products.
