At the same time, Huawei officially released HarmonyOS 3 Developer Preview, note that it’s a developer preview and still some time away from the official version. Huawei said HarmonyOS 3 continues to innovate around three core values: system architecture, super terminals, and multi-terminal deployment with one development, bringing a comprehensive upgrade of system capabilities and development tools.

At the same time, Huawei brings new flexible deployment automation tools, device developers can choose the required components according to different hardware to complete the OS assembly. Distributed technology has also been upgraded. HarmonyOS 3 Developer Preview brings heterogeneous networking technology, allowing distributed capabilities to support more devices and better performance.

In addition to the new Ark UI 3.0 development framework, ArkCompiler 3.0, DevEco Studio 3.0, and HarmonyOS SDK to greatly improve multi-device development efficiency and enable developers to cross over from a single-device ecosystem to a multi-device ecosystem.

  • Harmony Design System (HDS) provides complete design specifications for multiple devices, atomized adaptive layout capability plug-ins, service card templates that support different devices, and other design tools, allowing different devices to achieve a consistent visual experience while maintaining consistency of the overall design language.
  • Ark UI 3.0 (Ark Development Framework) brings a new declarative UI framework using TS/JS language to reduce the amount of code for cross-end application front-end development and design, and significantly improve efficiency and performance; ArkCompiler 3.0 (Ark Compiler 3.0) realizes cross-device unified compilation and can run cross-end with only one compilation.
  • DevEco Studio 3.0 brings high-efficiency coding, cross-end collaborative testing, multi-device integration testing, and other tool upgrades to effectively improve the efficiency of cross-end application development.
  • HarmonyOS SDK opens 6000+ TS/JS API capabilities to support efficient development of cross-end distributed experiences, and the ability to develop once and deploy multiple ends helps many global headline applications such as Sina News and Wish 107.5 to quickly cover multiple devices.

Officially, HarmonyOS 3 Beta is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022, providing developers with more complete system capabilities and development tools.

HMS Core 6.0 adds a new multimedia pipeline service (AV Pipeline Kit) in the media field, opens up 3D modeling capabilities (3D Modeling Kit) in the graphics field, and implements the industry’s first dynamic light and fog effect based on volume rendering technology in the existing graphics computing service (CG Kit) on the mobile side “Volume Fog”.

In addition, in the field of communications, Network Kit upgrades AI network environment prediction, which can be based on the network access pattern of the business, as well as the differentiated network demand, network parameters tuning, so that the application network latency is reduced by more than 20%.
