Today Korean HiFi brand Astell&Kern officially released the first headphones in the ZERO series AK ZERO1. Astell&Kern is a South Korean consumer electronics company founded in 2013 and is wholly owned by Dreamus. The company manufactures media players, CD players, headphones, and home cinema products.
Astell&Kern AK ZERO1 headphone using a new hybrid unit architecture, the dynamic coil, moving iron, flat sound unit integrated into a headphone cavity, through technological innovation to achieve perfect synergy of different types of sound units, to deliver real, accurate, natural sound.
The headphones are made of CNC aluminum housing with a high-precision 3D-printed frame inside for precise and secure installation of the sound unit. The headphones are manufactured in Japan, and each ZERO1 is assembled, inspected, and paired by hand by experienced engineers.
AK ZERO1 headphones are built with a special miniature flat unit, two custom moving-iron units, and a 5.6mm diameter miniature moving-coil unit. Headphones impedance 16Ω, frequency response range 25Hz-30KHz, sensitivity 96dB, total harmonic distortion 0.7% @1KHz.
The headphones come standard with a 3.5mm standard plug of high-purity oxygen-free copper silver-plated wire, and the same period of sale with a 4.4mm five-pole balanced plug optional upgrade cable. Both cables are highly compatible with the tuning of the ZERO1, the maximum performance of the headset potential. In terms of price, Astell&Kern AK ZERO1 headphones are priced at 699 USD or about 52,000 INR.
