iPhone 13 Pro Max 120Hz
Apple iPhone 13 Series’s models have been officially opened for sale, which for the first time to join the 120Hz refresh rate screen on the Pro version. However, it should be noted that several users did not give the iPhone 13 Pro series a high score for high brushing after the experience, because there are some applications where the screen is limited to 60 fps.
According to the report, iPhone 13 Pro is equipped with ProMotion display technology, which enables adaptive refresh rates from 10Hz to 120Hz. Although the system adds a limit frame rate switch, users can manually limit the maximum screen frame rate to 60 fps, but it seems that even if users do not set it in some scenarios will be limited to a 60fps screen.
The new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion can refresh from 10 to 120 times per second, and all kinds of frame rates in between. It intelligently ramps up when you need exceptional graphics performance, and ramps down to save power when you don’t. It even accelerates and decelerates naturally to match the speed of your finger as you scroll. You’ve never felt anything like it. iOS 15 is optimized for ProMotion, so the things you do every day feel phenomenally fluid

9to5Mac reports that some Apple developers have found that most applications are limited to 60Hz animations, which results in a very uneven viewing experience for users. In addition, in some scrolling and full-screen conversion, the animation effect is also limited to 60Hz.
In other words, the current limit of 60 fps is a system and application adaptation problem, which is a problem encountered in every new iPhone, and will be solved after developers adapt it, and is not considered a problem of Apple itself. There is also a bug reportedly affecting animations built using Core Animation, which Apple says will be fixed in the upcoming firmware release.
Recently, Weibo blogger also conducted iPhone 13 Pro Max 120Hz adaptive refresh rate live test showing that frame rate going up and down in different scenarios. He said, “the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate of the iPhone 13 Pro Max review was intercepted, and the refresh rate will only go up to 120Hz when you slide the screen very fast and continuously, and will drop immediately after you stop sliding. The normal speed of the short slide refresh rate can only rise to about 90Hz, so power saving is indeed power saving, but 120Hz high refresh rate experience is also discounted.
He also mentioned that the perfect strategy should be to keep 120Hz during the sliding process, no sliding operation when the refresh rate is immediately reduced so that both power-saving and does not affect the high refresh rate experience, rather than start sliding after the refresh rate only gradually rise, and not the whole process to maintain 120Hz at all down. We can only say that Android and Apple have not yet found the optimal solution for LTPO.
