Chrome Side Search

According to the report from XDA Developers, Google Chrome is experimenting with a Side Search. Although it’s not yet live in any Chrome branch, a recent merge submission on Chrome Gerrit provides more information about this upcoming feature.

The feature is similar to Microsoft Edge’s sidebar search, which will display relevant search results in the right-hand area of the browser without opening a new tab. Google Chrome already has a sidebar that displays bookmarks and a reading list, so adding search to it isn’t a novelty. In addition, Chrome Story found three related Flags in Chrome Gerrit.

These three experimental options are not yet available in Chrome, however. In addition to this feature, Google Chrome has also developed a new shopping feature that automatically gets discount coupons for users.
