Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio Price and Full Specifications
In addition to the expected new Surface Pro 8, Surface Go 3, Surface Duo, Microsoft also brought a special new product “Surface Laptop Studio”, a multi-purpose notebook for the professional content creation world.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is the successor to the powerful Surface Book series of laptops. It’s a complete redesign of Microsoft’s flagship laptop, ditching the detachable display in favor of a display that pulls forward and transforms from a laptop to a tablet, and Windows 11 to automatically detect the current mode and change the UI.

Surface Laptop Studio features a beautiful PixelSens Flow 14.4” touch display, with up to 120Hz refresh rate, resolution 2400 × 1600, pixel density 204PPI; Dolby Vision; and can be paired with Surface Slim Pen 2 and magnetically attach, store, and charge it under the front of the keyboard
The most immediate and obvious changes to this Surface Laptop Studio are the display and the hinge. 14.4-inch PixelSense display supports up to 120Hz and Dolby Vision. Microsoft is using a new flexible hinge that it says is durable and allows the laptop to switch between modes, just like the larger Surface Studio. Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio supports three modes: laptop, entertainment, and studio.

Laptop mode has the display arranged like a regular laptop, with a full keyboard and a new touchpad with haptics. Entertainment mode is where things get interesting, as you can pull the display forward to an angle that is designed for gaming, streaming, or presentations. This will cover the keyboard, and the angle is better suited for watching Netflix or playing games, touching the display, or writing with digital ink using the new Surface Slim Pen 2.
Just like the Surface Pro 8, Microsoft will use the Thunderbolt 4 interface on the Surface Laptop Studio. There will be two USB 4 ports with Thunderbolt 4, as well as the usual Surface Connect charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Thunderbolt support means you can connect the Surface Laptop Studio to multiple 4K displays, use high-speed external storage, and even use an external GPU enclosure to turn this device into a full-fledged gaming PC.
Microsoft is also using a precision glass touchpad with haptic feedback on the Surface Laptop Studio, although it’s unclear how haptic feedback works. Inside, the Surface Laptop Studio is powered by Intel’s 11th generation processors with a choice of i5-11300H or i7-11370H, the former using Iris Xe core graphics, the latter with a discrete RTX 3050 Ti, and the business version with an optional RTX A2000 professional graphics card.
