iPhone 14 Pro will Ditch Notch
Apple just launched iPhone 13 Series worldwide, the wave still has to settle and news about next year’s iPhone 14 Series gradually increasing. In April 2021, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that 2022’s iPhone will be 48-megapixel’s main camera. Now he confirmed more specifically that iPhone 14 Pro will pack 48-megapixel’s main camera capable to shoot wide-angle photography.
Furthermore, iPhone 14 Pro models will ditch notch display and use a punch-hole solution, a display with only a small circular opening for the front camera, which can be found on many Android phones. This design will remove the big cutout of notch shape and the Face ID sensor will likely move under the display.
As for the rear camera, the 48-megapixel wide-angle lens will be an upgrade to the 12-megapixel wide-angle lens on the iPhone 13 Pro model. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 14 series in the second half of 2022, in line with the usual release schedule. Ming-Chi Kuo also reiterated that Apple plans to release a 5G-enabled third-generation iPhone SE in the first half of 2022, and iPhone 14 Mini will disappear, said Ross Young.
While he previously predicted that Apple would launch the first iPhone with under-display fingerprint recognition (UD FP) in the second half of 2022, he now expects those devices to be released in the second half of 2023 due to lower-than-expected development progress. For similar reasons, Ming-Chi Kuo is also predicting that Apple’s first foldable iPhone will launch in 2024, compared to his previous prediction of 2023.
